I love men who look homeless...

That's what Maya and Leiley said to me when I tried to get them to come with me to an Edward Sharpe and Magnetic Zeros concert in London last year in the Old Vic Tunnels. Um. I love love love Alexander Ebert. He touched my hand once. It was great. See photos here and here.

And now the band has released two singles from their upcoming album. And it's a different sound, but I'm into it.

I have no words. However, if anyone has the option of seeing Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeroes - it will be one of the best concerts you ever attend. Also, the Old Vic Tunnels prove to be the most surreal venues ever - if you can find them, lol. It was hands down the most interactive, innovative, most legit concerts I've been to.

He touched my hand. We're basically married. The best concert I have been to in a while at the Old Vic Tunnels. Pictures of this unique venue will follow soon. Alexander Ebert is the most charismatic person; if he had a cult, I would join. Apparently, so would every one else judging my the insanity and violence that broke out to make eye contact with him. Also, Rocco DeLuca opened (photos of that to come as well.) I legit died and went to heaven.

24 Days...

... Till I go home and what an eventful 24 days it will be. Some plans:

This weekend:

1. Leiley's Birthday and Fancy Dress

2. Haircut (This is a big deal for me, lol)

3. Cailin comes to visit and Dinners for 12 Strangers!

Next weekend:

4. Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros with Cailin and Elisa!

5. Lexi and Steve come to visit :-)

Weekend of March 17:

6. Brian, Katie and Sara arrive on Saturday and my birthday week begins!

Saturday:

Everyone ARRIVES!

dinner at the best THAI food place in London

traditional ENGLISH PUB - the harlequin

*both conveniently located near my place

Sunday:

early morning unfortunately but its because...

we are going to PORTOBELLO MARKET!

followed by an afternoon in HYDE PARK and lunch at the cafe on the river

Indian dinner in Southhall at Brillant

Monday:

South Bank tour walk - parliament, london eye, big ben

*maybe the tate (I can leave you guys there when I go to class OR the British Museum OR napping)

I have class from 3-6 :-(

CAMDEN for dinner! (trendy, punky, cool)

Tuesday = MY BIRTHDAY!

(our day of luxury and coolness)

late brunch at the BREAKFAST CLUB

then shopping on REGENT ST. plus LIBERTY

I have class from 4-6...

but then we are doing a FANCY DINNER (TBA) and DRINKS

Wednesday:

Trafalgar Sq + National Gallery + Portrait Gallery

Lunch in a CRYPT

I have class in the afternoon --

but maybe dinner in Covent Garden?

Thursday:

Sloane Sq/Bond St aka where we will live when we're rich

brunch at the BOTANIST

window-shopping

The Victoria and Albert Museum (yay jewels)

HIGH TEA at a fashion house

CLUBBING in LONDON (also for my birthday and you can meet all mis amigos)

Friday:

lunch at BOROUGH MARKET (best fish and chips in London)

pack up (I also have to put my stuff in storage)

lazy evening of wine, movies, and English junk food

Oh yeah, and somewhere in there, I have to do work, papers, practice exams and my annotated bibliography for my dissertation is due. NBD.

25 Days...

Till I am home! I am oh-so-excited to see my family but I can't believe that this term has sped by so fast. But looking back, it was quite the drama-/fun-/crazy-filled few weeks. Some highlights so far:

1. Partying at Whisky Mist, where the girls and I were gifted with a table and bottle service.

2. A Friday night trip to the ER following the episode of projectile vomiting by a random in our kitchen (and they were unrelated incidents.)

3. The relaxing trip to Brighton with girls

4. Too much shopping: Dresses, Coachella wardrobe and Shoes :-)

5. Discovering the delicious music of First Aid Kit, Young Prisms, Joe Gil, James Vincent McMorrow, Adele, and some amazing covers.

5. Concert planning: Edward Sharpe, Coachella and Bob Dylan - yay!

6. A visit to a London police station after my friend got mugged.

7. An amazing trip to Oxford, complete with a pub crawl and cookies.

8. London Fashion Weekend - Need I say more?

Just watched True Grit - amazing. But probably not suitable for the mood I am in and I'll probably have a nightmare tonight. Agh. London Fashion Weekend show tomorrow. Hopefully, the showbag will put me in a better mood.

{Music} I just died happy - Alexander

Alexander Ebert, aka Edward Sharpe from Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeroes aka the love of my life, is releasing a solo album March 1. Birthday present anyone? (Yeah, the birthday countdown started about, oh, five minutes ago.) And of course, I already fell in love before I even listened to the songs. Duh. But it really hearkens back to the 60s and the 70s with this chill, breezy melodies and his organic vocals. I'm literally dying.
