I went through a bit of a transition period when I first moved to London. I don't think I factored the whole moving to another country, meeting new people, learning new shit and being cold thing into my ideas about my future until it was actually happening. And when it did happen, it was a tad overwhelming. Now that I know what I'm getting myself into and I've had time to evaluate the opportunities available to me, it is time to get back to my old, overachieving self. So my goals for this quarter:
1. Figure out a freaking amazing dissertation topic and get all my research done before Easter break
2. Do more reading, more regularly and take better notes
3. Organize my notes from the past quarter
4. Make another professor friend
5. Go to more public lectures
6. Make an effort to hang out with my London friends more
7. See more of London and not just the clubs
8. Keep in touch with my friends from home better
9. Go running - its good for maintaining my fragile sanity
10. Realize that I have a once in a lifetime opportunity in London and although it is not a long experience, I need to vest myself more fully in my day to day life there. These are moments where I can grow as a person and I should take advantage of this time.
