Headed up to my Norcal Home!
I'm spending New Year's and the next six days in Santa Cruz, CA, where my brother goes to school. Since I started going up there in May of 2009, I seriously can't get enough of relaxed beach town vibe and amazing people that I have met there. I'm looking forward to my morning runs on Westcliff, my lattes at Verve, and well basically everything...
For the ride, I burned several CDs that I will force my boys to listen to, so I'm excited about that... I'll probs share one or two of the playlists here if they prove successful and less embarrassing that one would expect.
We aren't quite sure how we are spending our New Year's Eve - either in SF or maybe just in the woods (yeah - I'm not sure about that one, lol.)
But tomorrow, despite whatever state I am in, I am going to start following through my resolutions.
xx and Happy New Year!

2010 Recap
January - Celebrated New Year's in Hollywood for a few days with Sara, Amanda, Lauren and Rahia and started really working on my thesis. Started a new content writing job and went to Santa Cruz for a long weekend.
February - Another trip to Santa Cruz and SF, worked a ton and started planning my six-week backpacking trip through Europe with Sara and Sara
March - In March, I traveled to Beijing and Seoul for Spring Break and to celebrate my 22nd birthday with my bffls Stacy and Jacob. It is the trip that ignited my travel bug and I haven't stopped since.
April - Started studying for the LSAT, SAA glitter party and another trip to Santa Cruz (do we see a trend here?)
May - Finished my thesis on the word "bitch" in popular culture, decided to move to London for grad school and a weekend in Vegas and yeah, you guessed it - another trip to Santa Cruz.
June and July - graduate and traveled through Europe, including Greece and Italy with my bbfls, Sara and Sara. Certainly a once in a lifetime trip, this six week extravaganza introduced me to new food, new cultures, new drinks and new people. I still haven't recovered from this tremendous learning experience.
August - worked in LA and entertained a lot with my mom. It was great to live at home and be taken care of by my mom, especially after staying in some less than savory hostels.
September - my brother, mom, aunt and I traveled up the coast to drop Jason back off in Santa Cruz. These few days brought us closer together and we had so much fun as it seemed we had come full circle from when we started college as freshmen.
October - I officially moved to London and started my new life as a graduate student - it still feels weird to say that. Challenging and stimulating, I've loved every minute of it. I also visited Wales withe my friend Hannah.
November - My bffl Becky came to visit and we lived it up, including a weekend trip to Paris, which was unforgettable and so much fun.
December - Visited Bordeaux with my friend Sam and enjoyed mulled wine and vintage antique markets. We celebrate Christmas this year at my aunt's and I have been filling up my days with friends and food and fun, ending the year with a smile on my face :-)

Beach Day with the BFFL
Lauren and I inevitably end up at the beach whenever we spend the day together. This particular day started with post-party In & Out, 2 hours on the freeway, a landslide on PCH, then peppermint white mochas and the beach!

Whiskers is coming home today!
Thank god for my friend, Hannah, who had to literally break into Jas' house to wrangle him out of bed at 8am this morning. I will see him by tonight - can't wait to actually give him a hug. asdhfakjsdfjaksdjflkajsdf;asdjfldkajfsdlkfjas;ldjflasjdflak;sjdflkajsdflk

Streamlining Office Communication - Business VoIP
Sometimes I am so completely shocked by the capabilities of technology. Especially being abroad, my level of contact with people back home is way better because of technology than it was when I was living next door to my friends. Maintaining relationships, both personal and professional, have been made much easier with phone, email and other internet based communication.
When looking for other ways to maximize my productivity, I learned about business VoIP, which uses the internet connection to streamline office communication and it is something I want to invest in the near future.
With business VoIP through Nextiva, an individual or business is granted a toll-free or local telephone number, whichever best suits their needs. In addition, they have the option of voicemail feature, which mails voicemails to an email inbox, which makes it easy to listen, delete and forward messages. There is also an auto-attendant who greets incoming callers and can route calls appropriately. There are also the options of online faxes, which allows you to both send and receive faxes online as well as a dial-by-name directory, and advanced call routing. With the latter, you can forward a call to multiple targets depending on preferences, including a cell phone, business phone or home phone.
There are also fun features like on-hold music for callers and number portability, which makes it easy to transfer numbers from an old phone service provider, rather than having to reenter the numbers yourself. Individuals can also record unique holiday and after hours greetings, use virtual PBX to create a virtual directory, a web portal interface to manage all these features and a mobile phone integration to keep your business flexible.
With all these options, it is ridiculous not to take advantage of these opportunities and make your professional life that much easier. Check out business VoIP now!
